Making Talent Attraction FUN in Your Business

Building a solid sales team through talent attraction and recruitment can be one of the most rewarding aspects of your real estate career.  Despite the fact that many people cringe at the mere mention of talent attraction, you can have a lot of fun doing it. Really, you can.

Successful talent attraction is not about cold calls and scripted closing questions; it is being passionate about what you do and taking pride in your business. It is getting out and being active, getting involved in your community, caring and giving back. It is creating a team culture of learning and success where all of your agents have fun and love what they do.

Just ask people like Maurice Vaughan, owner of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Hometown Connection in Clarksville, Tennessee.  If you check out the company’s social media sites, you will see photos of agents in costume at a Halloween Open House, office parties, a toy drive at Christmas and lots and lots of charity events.

An acronym for the word “fun” l learned early on in my sales career reminds me that our attitude and our success really are up to us. FUN = Forgetting Unbelievable Negatives.

We have a new year ahead of us. This is the new norm and we need to figure out how to thrive in it.  It is time to forget the unbelievable negatives of the past few years and rekindle your passion for all that you do including talent attraction. It is time to have some genuine fun. If you can accomplish this, you will attract the people you need to grow your company.
