BHGRE® completely devoted its 2015 research strategy to conducting groundbreaking studies designed to shed new light on three consumer segments: the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community, Hispanic women and Chinese Americans.

In 2015, BHGRE® commissioned the first national LGBT Home Buyer and Seller Survey in partnership with the National Association of Gay & Lesbian Real Estate Professionals (NAGLREP), timed just ahead of the historic Supreme Court ruling on marriage equality, that revealed LGBT appreciation, intent and concerns surrounding homeownership (LGBT Survey); a national study in partnership with the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) of Latinas ages 25 to 60 that identified the purchase power this group has based on their roles within the household (Hispanic Women Survey); and a unique study in partnership with the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) that uncovered how the ancient design philosophy of Feng Shui impacts the mindset and preferences of Chinese Americans as they undergo the home buying process (Feng Shui Survey).
The PR News Diversity Awards honor organizations that are making new and concerted efforts to address diversity and inclusion issues. It recognizes newly implemented programs that are intended to improve ethnic diversity so it permeates all levels and divisions of the organization.
