Friday Blog Scan: Things we liked from the week that was

Jennifer Ames is a Chicago based agent with a great blog. Though her post is geared towards Chicago real estate, her advice on how to price homes right is universal.

Kris Berg, owns a small brokerage in San Diego but is largely known in our industry as one of the wittiest blogger/writers in real estate. In her post this week titled Property Inspections – You had to be there, Kris offers a big picture view of home inspections that I think all real estate agents can relate too.

Marc from 1000watt raises an interesting question this week that goes to the heart of whether new technology and innovation sold to consumers can ever really replace the professionals that once supplied the services these technologies now offer. The post is aptly titled Replaced and really will give you pause to think.

With the millions of people vying for attention on Twitter, becoming popular may just require a little bit of alchemy that includes part art and part science. Kris Colvin writes this in depth post titled Twitter and the laws of reciprocity and addresses ways to properly grow your brand using “social for business”.

SEO. One of the most discussed aspects of the Web and also one of the least understood. Many opinions on how to play it are abound. I found this post by SEO consultant Mark Hawthorn titled SEO: New Rules for 2009 offers simple, clear, sensible advice that is applicable to real estate.

Until next week…
