The email hit my inbox Thursday night at 5:43 pm. The subject line read: EMBARGO: You’re Invited to Attend a Private HouseLogic Webinar Tomorrow. The body invited the distribution list to a 2 hour private webinar on Friday afternoon with a teaser saying that the listener would want to stay tuned for the second half when [...]

As local emissaries, real estate agents and brokers could be broadcasting valuable info about their market through their Twitter account instead of the typical stream of consciousness ramblings about what they are doing right now. If there was any question about the viability of broadcasting relevant information of this sort,  Nixle might be it. Nixle [...]

Granted we’re bullish about Twitter. But we’re also realistic about it. TechCrunch brings some of that realism to life in this post titled On Twitter, most people are sheep which documents how many people actually use Twitter regularly and how many, 80% to be exact, don’t.
Sometimes I think agents get in their own way and [...]

That is a significant “somewhat” captive audience out there who will drive the real estate market in the years to come. They will be our customers, our broker owners, our real estate agents, and they will be looking for us on all of these social networking sites and on others that haven’t yet been conceived. What we say and how we present ourselves, and whether we are even participating will be a large factor in our business success. In the past several weeks I have received franchise inquiries from Twitter, comments on YouTube videos, employment inquiries with resumes and franchise inquiries from LinkedIn, suggestions, meeting requests, comments, friend requests, links to products we might be interested in and general messages from FaceBook.

Over the past month I have been searching for the first addition to my staff. We posted the position internally and on all of the major job boards, monster, craigslist, Yahoo!, etc.. The position requires about 3-5 years experience and would most likely attract someone in their 20s. I [...]
