Home price gains slowing as market recovers

Half of nation’s foreclosed homes still occupied

RealtyTrac recently released data that compared its database of foreclosed homes with postal records showing whether mail was still being collected and whether change-of-address forms had been filed.  The company took the data and came up with an estimate that 47% of the nation’s foreclosed homes are currently occupied.

Report: Housing Inventory Fell in September

According to a report recently released by Realtor.com, the number of homes listed for sale dropped slightly in September but a growing number of housing markets are experiencing higher levels of for-sale inventory compared to last year.  This drop is usually normal for September, as they tend to be slow as the school year begins.
